The Laramie City Council on Jan. 14 adopted a resolution authorizing payment of December 2024 vouchers, allowing warrants to be drawn on proper city funds and directing that the vouchers be placed on file in the treasurer’s office for public inspection.
The council approved the measure after Finance Director Wade told the council the newly formed finance committee had completed its review and “signed off on disbursements,” and recommended the council allow payment. The resolution as read by the clerk authorizes payment for month-end payroll, light and gas charges, telephone charges, employee travel and reimbursements, pay advances, refunds for city services, recording fees, postage, lease-purchase and bond payments, self-funded employee health claims, miscellaneous insurance claims, council-approved bid items, outside attorney fees and other consulting fees that come due before the next regular council meeting.
The resolution was moved by Councilor Vigil and seconded by Vice Mayor Anne Cumby. The clerk called roll; the record shows votes of “yes” from Bowling, Freed, Lockhart, Newman, O’Doherty, Shumway, Feehill, Richardson and Cumby. The clerk reported “9 yeses and 0 nos.” The motion passed.
Councilors did not request further changes to the voucher list; the council placed the vouchers on file subject to audit by the city finance department.
The council then voted to adjourn the special meeting and convene the work session. That motion, moved by Vice Mayor Anne Cumby and seconded by Councilor Newman, passed on a roll call vote.
