Supporters said the reordering aims to reduce late-night finishes on nights with heavy agendas. Opponents said any single arrangement will inconvenience some members and noted the borough has rearranged committee order in the past to match meeting length. The council did not take a roll-call vote at the work session; members signaled consensus to move the amended recommendation forward for formal action on Jan. 15.
The change also includes one calendar adjustment: the borough's May work session and voting meeting dates will be moved because the primary election falls on the usual meeting day that week.
