Multiple speakers from Partnership for the Pathway — including Joe Salsihai, Brandon Ayers and longtime event announcer Mike Jones — told council that John and Julie Ray Harrison have driven trail development and fundraising, including the annual Run the Line race that attracts out-of-state participants. John and Julie Ray Harrison described the project’s long timeline and opportunities to extend trail connectivity across the city. Robbie Robertson and council members thanked the Harrisons and noted the item will return for formal council action on Feb. 10, 2025.
Speakers urged continued collaboration between the non-profit partnership and city parks staff for trail construction and maintenance; Robertson highlighted parks staff ongoing maintenance duties.
