Council approves final design and bidding for County Road 15 sidewalk replacements

The Mound City Council voted Jan. 14 to accept a feasibility study and authorize final design and bidding for two sidewalk projects on County Road 15 (projects PW2508 and PW2509) as a coordinated effort with Hennepin County.

Baumann presented an estimated total cost for the combined effort in the low seven figures and said Hennepin County has pledged funds to cover the ADA ramps and a large portion of shared mainline sidewalk repairs. The city plans to use bond proceeds and municipal state aid dollars to cover its portion.
Council members asked about schedule; Baumann said the city aims to advertise bids by late March and award in April so construction can proceed before the county’s paving.
