The Roseville Economic Development Authority on Jan. 13 unanimously approved its meeting agenda and elected officers for 2025, continuing the board’s recent leadership practice.
The board confirmed its agenda and then voted to make the mayor president and the acting mayor vice president for 2025. Member Robin Schroeder was appointed treasurer after a motion and second; the board approved that appointment unanimously.
The election follows the EDA’s bylaws, which the board staff reiterated require an annual officer election and specify that the executive director and the city finance director hold the secretary and assistant treasurer positions, respectively. Kelsey, the housing and economic development program manager, reminded the board that the secretary and assistant treasurer roles are assigned automatically in the bylaws.
Board members discussed tradition and practicalities. President Rowe explained the customary arrangement that typically places the mayor in the president slot and the acting mayor in the vice president role, but said the board could change that practice if it wished. Member Schroeder moved the slate that named the mayor and acting mayor to the two top roles; Member Bauer seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote.
On the treasurer appointment, a motion naming Robin Schroeder to the position was seconded and approved unanimously after members noted the treasurer’s prior work and the EDA’s finances being in order.
The board then proceeded with the rest of its EDA business for the evening.
