Several members emphasized the value of in‑person field visits and informal opportunities to build rapport to improve deliberations.
The committee then reviewed a list of pending gubernatorial appointments that ordinarily require committee interviews and a recommendation to the full Senate. Members agreed to divide a set of board and advisory appointments — including candidates for the Citizens Advisory Committee on Lake Champlain, the Fish and Wildlife Board and the Land Use Review Board — among themselves for outreach and preliminary interviews.
