St. Lucie Public Schools reports 94.3% district graduation rate, ranks 9th in Florida

“Saint Lucie Public Schools is ranked 9th in the state for graduation in 2024,” Doctor Ocampo said during a presentation that reviewed a decade of graduation data. He said the district’s graduation rate has been at or above 90% for eight consecutive years.
Ocampo highlighted subgroup gains: Hispanic students’ graduation rate rose 2.7 percentage points from 2023; Black students improved by 2.9 points to 94%; white students rose by 2.7 points. The district reported a 3.4‑point increase for economically disadvantaged students, a 0.6‑point increase for students with disabilities and a 10.4‑point increase for English‑language learners. Ocampo said 58% of the district’s graduation cohort (2,314 students) qualified for free or reduced‑price lunch.
School‑level results cited in the presentation included: Fort Pierce Central, 97.4%; Fort Pierce Westwood, 96.2%; Lincoln Park Academy, 100%; Mosaic Digital Academy, 100%; Port St. Lucie High, 98.3%; St. Lucie West Centennial, 97.5%; Treasure Coast High, 99.5%. Ocampo also noted a district‑level gain of 2.8 percentage points from the prior year.
Superintendent Doctor Prince and board members praised school staff, principals and support employees for targeted work that officials said contributed to the trend. The presentation singled out the Performance‑Based Preparatory program (led by Art Jamieson) for a 19‑percentage‑point increase in that program’s graduation rate, adding 42 additional graduates.
Board members said they will celebrate principals and staff with a photo opportunity after the presentation. The district presentation included comparisons to neighboring counties and subgroup rankings among Florida districts; Ocampo said St. Lucie is one of three districts that have sustained 90%+ graduation rates for eight years.
