Cobb County elections panel unanimously approves permanent move of Oregon 02 polling location to Gathering of Champions Church

The Cobb County Board of Elections voted unanimously to approve a permanent relocation of the Oregon 02 polling place to Gathering of Champions Church International at 1994 Powder Springs Road in Marietta.

Director Fall presented the proposal, telling the board the office had temporarily used Smith Middle School after the prior polling site at Worship With Wonders Church sold its building. "We are presenting the permanent move ... effective January 14, 2025," Director Fall said, showing a map and describing the church's parking and accessibility.

The move drew no public comments during the item-specific public hearing. Board Member Bruning moved to approve the relocation and Board Member Fisher seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

The board directed the elections office to include the change in standard voter communications for the district and to use district-specific newsletters and other outreach to notify affected voters. Director Fall said precinct cards will be ordered after the board's vote so mailed cards will reflect the new location.

The action makes Gathering of Champions Church the permanent polling location for Oregon 02. There were no amendments or recorded opposing votes.

Looking ahead, Director Fall noted the office will print and mail updated precinct cards countywide once all precinct locations are finalized.
