Sheriff outlines multi-pronged enforcement operations: search warrants, prostitution arrests and juvenile cases

The sheriff—s briefing included a run-through of recent operations across the county: multi-site search-warrant service, prostitution-related enforcement at massage parlors, arrests tied to car burglaries and prosecutions for violent or fraudulent conduct.

Sheriff (name not specified) said five search warrants were served in a coordinated action that led to narcotics and firearms recoveries and at least two arrests in a series of car-burglary investigations in which two suspects were 13 years old. "This is gonna be a big hit this Saturday. Total of 5 search warrant search warrants are being served. 4 of them are being served at the exact same time. 2 arrests in a series of car burglaries, both suspects just 13 years old," the sheriff said.

Officials also reported arrests in prostitution enforcement: "Azalea Spa in Deltona is just 1 of 10 massage parlors in Volusia County where employees were arrested on prostitution charges," a briefing segment said. Captains and detectives described additional cases that included shoplifting, vandalism with pellet guns (two 18-year-olds who admitted firing pellet guns and damaging windows), and an animal-cruelty investigation where deputies removed a severely neglected dog later adopted by a Palm Bay family.

Detectives described numerous burglary, theft and robbery cases cleared by arrest, and said digital forensics on seized electronics are being used to link suspects to prior overdoses and crimes.
