At its Jan. 13 regular meeting the Liberty Elementary School District governing board approved a package of routine administrative items, including open‑enrollment capacity for the 2025–26 school year (with kindergarten classrooms excluded from the posted limits pending further review), employee work calendars for 2025–26 and an intergovernmental agreement for use of Tyler Technologies’ school ERP platform.
Superintendent Doctor Monroe told trustees the open‑enrollment recommendations are annual and the district will post capacities as required by state law; administration recommended no annual capacity for special‑education open enrollment because of program constraints. The board approved the open‑enrollment posting with a stipulation removing kindergarten from the posted closed seats so administration can monitor kindergarten registration and bring recommendations for sections if needed.
Administrators noted staff had surveyed teachers and teacher‑advisory groups about proposed work calendars; trustees approved the set of certified and classified calendars for 2025–26.
The board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Maricopa County and Tyler Technologies allowing use of the district’s financial and ERP services (School ERP Pro, formerly Visions) for five years; that agreement will remain in place through 2029 unless renewed.
In separate actions the board tabled two items for additional refinement: (1) the draft board–superintendent operating and communications protocol, which trustees asked administration to revise for clarity around communication with staff and agenda‑setting; and (2) the draft governing‑board meeting schedule for the 2025–26 year so the board can consider alternate weekday options (trustees discussed a possible shift to Tuesday meetings and the option of moving to one meeting per month with emergency meetings as needed).
Votes on the open‑enrollment capacity, employee work calendars, and Tyler IGA were unanimous (4–0).
