Local business owner asks Deer Creek board to recognize Game Day AF as official sponsor

John Dalton, who identified himself as the owner of Dalton Mortgage Group and founder of the Game Day AF clothing brand, told the Deer Creek Board of Education he has given away more than 10,000 shirts and sweatshirts to Deer Creek students, parents and staff and requested the board recognize Game Day AF as an official sponsor of Deer Creek and Deer Creek Athletics.
“My name is John Dalton. I own the Dalton Mortgage Group, and I started, Game Day AF… It’s federally trademarked,” Dalton said. He told the board Game Day AF has spent “over $105,000 of our own money” distributing apparel to the community and said the brand’s initials stand for “Antler Football.”
Dalton said the district’s student council asked his organization to remove the “AF” from event apparel this year. He described that requirement as a “caveat” and said removing the initials would alter the brand’s identity.
“What I'd like the board to do is recognize Game Day as an official sponsor of Deer Creek and Deer Creek Athletics because I think that we put in the time, we put in the money,” Dalton said.
