Superintendent Jason Perez reported that the Oklahoma State Department of Education granted Deer Creek accreditation with no deficiencies and highlighted recent student achievements, then announced the Deer Creek High School master-plan community forum has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.
The superintendent told the board the accreditation decision reflected “a lot of time, effort, and energy by our principals and our assistant superintendent, Lehi DeRue.” He also congratulated the Deer Creek Middle School academic team for winning first place in a recent tournament and named several Deer Creek athletes recognized by local media.
Perez noted that Grady Adamson played in the Navy All-American Bowl, televised on NBC, and that Grady Adamson along with Evan Odom and Bridal Brewer were named to the Oklahoman’s Big All-City team. The superintendent described those recognitions as evidence of continued student success districtwide.
The district will hold a community forum on the Deer Creek High School master plan on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m., Perez said, and invited community members to attend and provide input on the future of the high school campus.
The report closed with thanks to board volunteers during Board Appreciation Month.
