Auditor Sheila presented the breakdown of three funds tied to the sheriff's request and recommended approving an amount of up to $200,000 from fund 11.70 for the county’s road deputy costs. She noted that one of the labeled line items (the police retirement in the general fund) should not be adjusted until the county confirms the retirement dollar amount; the county would not take action on that element at this time. Sheila told the body that the opioid fund (fund 1237) includes a position funded locally and that salary approval is required for that fund.
No members of the public offered comment during the hearing. Commissioner Nick made the motion to approve the additional appropriation of $200,000 from fund 11.70; Burrell seconded. The motion carried and the public hearing was closed. The auditor was authorized to adjust appropriation records accordingly.
The action was presented as a follow‑up to an earlier commissioners’ action expanding road deputy authorization and to align the appropriations with actual costs across funds. County leaders emphasized that the $200,000 represented the larger fund request across multiple funds but that the immediate need from 11.70 was capped at $200,000.
