The Mohave County Advisory Code Board on Jan. 14, 2025 received a year-end report from building-division staff that summarized inspections, staffing changes and enforcement activity for 2024, then handled routine business including approval of minutes and election of officers.
Building-division staff member Smeby told the board the division issued 965 certificates of occupancy in 2024 and conducted roughly 37,000 scheduled inspections for the year. Smeby said inspectors achieved an 84% approval rate on first inspections and that total inspections rose by about 2,000 from 2023.
Smeby described changes to several programs. He said the county no longer performs state manufactured-housing inspections after the state declined to renew an intergovernmental service agreement and now conducts its own inspections.
