Mikayla Hyatt of TAM said the funding — if awarded — would support an 18‑month study to review existing plans and alignments, evaluate integration of sea‑level rise protection, analyze right‑of‑way needs and advance public outreach and an implementation plan in partnership with Corte Madera, Larkspur, SMART and Marin County.
Background: the southern segment has been in planning since about 2014; prior work identified possible alignments along SMART/right‑of‑way and connections through marsh and private parcels. Corte Madera’s council previously adopted a resolution supporting the project and urging incorporation of current sea‑level rise projections into design.
Public comment and committee input included support for the grant, suggestions to study a potential neighborhood park or playground near Industrial Way, and requests to consider trees, benches and quick‑build improvements where feasible.
Next steps: TAM will incorporate feedback, file the MTC application and return to the BPAC and stakeholders during the study if grant funding is awarded.
