The Florence City Planning Commission voted to approve rezoning two parcels at 1001 Turnbridge Place and 3740 Westlake Drive to RG‑2 pending annexation.
Planner Elaine Lane described the parcels as part of an older subdivision—Greenscape—that borders city property and the lake. Lane said the neighborhood contains large house footprints on small lots and that the two parcels in question are consistent with that character. Because the parcels are contiguous with city limits and the future land‑use map calls for neighborhood conservation, staff recommended RG‑2 zoning.
No residents spoke in opposition during the public hearing. Commissioners moved and seconded approval, and the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff said the decision will allow the owner to pursue building consistent with the neighborhood’s pattern; detailed design and permitting will follow UDO standards and subsequent reviews.
