The Chilton County Commission approved a resolution to hold a public meeting for an open forum on proposed amendments to the county’s subdivision regulations. The motion was made by Commissioner Perkins and seconded by Commissioner Childress; the resolution passed unanimously.
During discussion commissioners noted the forum venue must be large enough for anticipated attendance and that livestreaming may pose technical challenges. Commissioner Perkins initially proposed Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., but the motion was amended so the final date will be set by agreement of the commissioners to avoid scheduling conflicts. The commission directed that the chosen date be posted at least seven days in advance.
Commissioners asked the county attorney about posting and notice requirements during the meeting; the attorney confirmed a resolution could be passed with the final date to be confirmed and posted later. Commissioner Perkins was tasked with coordinating availability with other commissioners and relevant staff, including the county engineer.
