Mayor McLeod introduced members of the foundation and the event committee and said, “we surpassed the goal with $30,860.15,” and thanked organizers and volunteers. Monica, a Health & Human Services staff member, described the Self Help Fund as a village‑run resource administered through the department and the foundation to assist residents whose needs fall outside other assistance programs. She said the fund helps a range of needs, from food insecurity to support for residents fleeing domestic violence and services for seniors.
The board presented “Good Citizen” awards to volunteers and donors. The board honored Matthew Ochlin (identified as a member of Carpenters Local 58) for donating time and materials to install a handrail for a disabled veteran and longtime resident. The board also recognized Lan Harner and Nandini Ntroganti for their roles organizing the golf fundraiser and securing sponsorships. Staff and trustees thanked volunteers and sponsors and said the village plans to host the golf outing again in July 2025.
