Weld County commissioners approve routine contracts, a roofing bid and opioid and grant funds; multiple appointments confirmed

Weld County commissioners on Monday approved a series of routine procurement actions, grant acceptances and appointments that county staff said are intended to support criminal forensics, public health screening and maintenance of county facilities.

Among the approvals, the board accepted a low bid from Front Range Roofing Systems LLC for $435,000 to replace the roof on the Weld County North Jail (leased facility). The motion to award bid B2400150 was moved by Commissioner Scott James, seconded by Commissioner Kevin D. Ross, and approved by voice vote.

The board also approved acceptance of a $9,200 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force grant to support the regional crime lab’s digital forensics work. Opioid settlement funds: The board approved a cooperation agreement (Contract ID 8989) with the Weld Opioid Regional Council to fund a full‑time employee who serves as a substance‑abuse educator and liaison to the regional opioid council. The contract includes about $13,000 to purchase and distribute NARCAN to entities within Weld County, according to the presentation.

Appointments and elections: The board confirmed a slate of annual appointments to advisory boards and elected internal leadership for 2025: Perry L. Buck was re‑elected chair and Scott James was elected chair pro tem.
