Council sets Jan. 27 public hearing after first reading of bill to allow climate-controlled mini-warehouses in Spanish Springs Town Center

The Sparks City Council conducted the first reading of Bill No. 2826 on Jan. 13, a zoning amendment that would add climate-controlled mini-warehouse (self-storage) uses and development standards to the Spanish Springs Town Center Plan on about 8.9 acres east of Galleria Parkway and south of Los Altos Parkway (APN 510-491-15 through -17) in the New Urban District (Spanish Springs Town Center).
City staff read the ordinance title into the record and announced that a public hearing and council action on Bill 2826 will occur at the regular Sparks City Council meeting on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The first reading did not include a final vote; staff will present the full record and public testimony at the Jan. 27 hearing.
The staff notice included the site acreage, APNs and the zoning district. No final action was taken on Jan. 13; the item remains at first-reading stage pending public hearing and council action on Jan. 27.
