Escambia County Children's Trust elects chair, vice chair and treasurer; reviews bank-signer resolution

Dr. Northup was elected chair of the Escambia County Children's Trust board at the trust's 2025 annual meeting, the board confirmed during its Jan. 14 meeting. The trust also elected Stephanie as vice chair and Tori (Tory) Woods as treasurer.

The vote to elect Northup as chair and to elect Stephanie as vice chair carried with affirmative voice votes; Judge Williams abstained on the vice chair vote, which was clarified on the record. Tory Woods was nominated and confirmed as treasurer by motion and second.

The board then considered Resolution 2025-02, described by staff as authorizing changes to the list of persons who may sign on the trust's bank account, with an effective date listed as Jan. 14, 2025. An executive director recommendation to approve the draft resolution was moved and seconded. During discussion staff and board members noted one line (step 3) would be revised to avoid removing Tory Woods's name because she had just been elected treasurer.

Staff said they would make the technical change to the draft and add the newly elected board chair. Board staff also noted a separate bank form requires the current vice chair to sign before changes can be completed; staff will arrange for that signature.
