Pueblo County manager forwards draft policy on disposition of elected-official property

County Manager Miss Giannacio presented a draft policy outlining how property tied to elected officials would be handled when those officials leave office.

The policy, Giannacio said, “simply outlines that process as far as how that transition of ownership would work.” She told the board she made minor edits requested by commissioners, including changing the dollar value for some small items from “0 to nominal.”

Giannacio asked whether the board had further feedback or wished to direct staff to move the draft forward as an official policy. A commissioner indicated support to advance the draft to a resolution.

Giannacio said she will brief incoming commissioners on the policy and described it as short and simple enough for that purpose. The manager noted electronics and furniture were likely the most significant categories covered and said fair market value would be used where applicable.

Also during the county manager update, administrators confirmed they will distribute memos to outside agencies clarifying what the Board of County Commissioners awarded this budget cycle. Manager Giannacio said staff will provide numbers to Administrator Jake so those notices can go out.
