Holy Cross Energy to become sole tenant for airport solar array; board amends land lease

Garfield County commissioners approved a fourth amendment to the land lease for the solar array located on airport property, making Holy Cross Energy the sole tenant and operator of the site.
Lisa Reid of Holy Cross Energy told the board the member-owned electric cooperative is taking responsibility for the array after Clean Energy Collective is leaving the power-supply business. Reid said Holy Cross plans to continue operating the panels to serve cooperative members and does not intend to dismantle the installation.
Staff said the lease amendment transfers responsibilities to Holy Cross consistent with the third amendment’s rental-rate structure: the land lease combines base rent with a production payment that pays the county roughly $0.50 per megawatt-hour produced, as recorded in the meeting packet.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve execution of the fourth amendment and to allow the chair to sign.
