District posts dates for College Credit Plus webinar, kindergarten registration and inclusive preschool peer-model sessions

At the Jan. 13 meeting the Solon Board of Education staff listed upcoming information sessions and registration windows for families.
Key dates and details announced by staff: - College Credit Plus webinar: Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m.; a 90-minute session for students in grades 6–11 (next year’s grades 7–12) to learn how to take college coursework for credit and meet program deadlines. - Kindergarten information night: Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6:15 p.m.; open/virtual session for families of prospective kindergartners (students who turn 5 on or before Aug. 1 are eligible for regular entrance). - Kindergarten registration window: March 3–14; families who register by March 14 are guaranteed placement at their home school’s kindergarten program; late registrants may not be guaranteed placement in their school of residence. - Inclusive preschool peer-model information sessions: two virtual sessions on Thursday, Jan. 16 (noon–1 p.m. and 5:30–6:30 p.m.) explaining peer-model criteria and how to apply; preschool director contact: Amy Wallach.
Staff said links and recordings will be posted online when available. The board asked staff to publicize the dates and encourage families to register in the posted windows.
