The Solon Board of Education on Jan. 13 awarded the Lewis Elementary roof replacement contract to Mansueto and Sons for $1,285,860.
District staff said bids arrived significantly under the district’s original estimate of approximately $2.1 million. Mansueto and Sons, which completed the project’s first phase last year, was the low responsible bidder. The board approved the award by roll-call vote.
Next steps: Facilities staff said the contractor’s familiarity with the site contributed to the lower bid; the district will move forward with contract execution and scheduling.
