Staff briefs commission on recent administrative approvals and mapping tool updates

At the Jan. 14, 2025 meeting, planning staff summarized projects approved through administrative review over the past six months and showed an updated interactive map on the city website that links to project packets.
Staff highlighted several items: a 144,000-square-foot Phase 3 expansion at 1870 Transport Lane (Cold Link); a wellness-center replacement at 725 East 40th Street for Tierra Yacht; two 212,000-square-foot warehouse buildings near 96 East 64th Street just north of the proposed bike-park site; a downtown facade replacement at 1517 West 8th Street; and a small addition to an existing building at 1049 Washington for XL Auto. Staff said some projects may not yet be under construction but were approved administratively.
Staff also demonstrated a public-facing map updated to include projects from 2022 and 2023; the map provides links to staff packets and is available on the city mapping and economic development pages. Commissioners praised the tool as a public-access resource.
