Commission approves Armstrong exhibit contract and museum security upgrade with Alpine Alarm

Security contract: the museum’s facilities team recommended Alpine Alarm after a competitive review. Alpine’s proposal included an integrated monitoring and camera system designed to work with existing door contacts and infrastructure already installed; staff said Alpine was the incumbent for other county sites and offered integrated 24/7 monitoring with AI and human review. The recent Alpine proposal — which staff presented as the preferred option after multiple revisions and budget discussions — included a three‑year licensing fee and installation; staff said the board had funding identified for the upgrade.

Board action: commissioners voted to approve both the Smallcore museum agreement (with corrections and an out‑of‑session signature process) and the Alpine Alarm contract for a museum security upgrade.
