The Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Board heard a brief report on the Lawrence Bikes Plan update and agreed to provide a volunteer to sit on the steering committee.
Steven (representing the Bikes Plan effort) said the update is scheduled to begin steering‑committee meetings this month and run through December 2025, with an expectation of roughly six meetings held every other month and additional attendance at public open houses. "We'll probably meet every other month, through the year," he said, describing an initial meeting to set scope and subsequent sessions to review surveys and draft text.
A board member volunteered to serve on the steering committee; staff said they will follow up with scheduling and contact details. No formal motion was required. Staff said they will reach out to coordinate the volunteer’s participation and share meeting dates and materials.
What’s next: staff will contact the volunteer and circulate steering‑committee meeting dates and the draft scope for public outreach. The final plan is expected to be ready for City Commission consideration late in 2025.
