While preparing materials for the hearing, staff located the original Southgate renovation plans from about 2008–2009 showing the prior sign as 35 feet tall. Because the public notice was for 34 feet, staff told the board they could not grant a variance exceeding the advertised height and therefore recommended a one‑month continuance to re‑advertise the request for the full 35 feet the owner wants to restore.
A motion to continue for one month carried unanimously: Missus Hatfield — yes; Missus Tessmer — yes; Missus Farrell — yes; Mr. Sherritt — yes; Mr. Brodner — yes; Chair — yes. Staff said the item will be heard at the ZBA meeting on Tuesday, February 4th.
