Crystal Mott, director of business services, presented a recap of the 2023–24 audit report at the Jan. 13 meeting and said the audit opinion was unmodified with no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies. Mott said federal awards were reported as unmodified and the district was categorized as a low-risk auditee for state awards.
Mott reminded the board that the audit materials had been shared previously (Sept. 23 and at the annual meeting on Oct. 28) and that the Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) narrative is included at the beginning of the audit booklet. She noted the MD&A explains budget-to-actual variances where lines vary by certain thresholds.
Mott said the 2023–24 financial statements and audit documents would appear on the Jan. 27 consent agenda and recommended the board accept the audit at that time.
