Lincoln Public Schools recognizes employees for 25 years of service

Lincoln Public Schools recognized several employees for 25 years of service during the Jan. 14 Board of Education meeting.
The recognition was presented at the start of the meeting as part of special reports. A staff presenter identified only as Mary introduced the group and noted the presentation was intended to celebrate long service. "This is the fun part of my job is to celebrate," Mary said.
Board members invited the recognized employees to introduce themselves and state their current assignments. Employees who introduced themselves included Doug Weatherholtam, North Star High School; Eric Vasek, physical education teacher at Kehoe; Debbie Baron, 6th-grade humanities teacher at Scott Middle School; Sarah Anderson and Allie Art, 6th-grade math and science teachers at Lux (Luxe); Julie Krueger, English teacher at Lincoln Southeast; Sharon Brennan, 3rd-grade teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary; Heather Burback, special education teacher at Freidstrom; Lisa Cobaum, computer and music teacher at Human Elementary; Rhonda Meyer, administrative assistant in federal programs; Darby Umholz, human resources; Angie Ertz, special education coordinator at Lincoln East High School; Jenny Anderson, associate principal at East High School; Joe Schlegomelch, associate athletics activities director at Lincoln East; Steve Swinart, English department at Lincoln East; Vicky Fosna, executive secretary at Randolph Elementary; Tawny Hager, 2nd-grade teacher at Riley; Eileen Schmichael, 1st-grade teacher at Zeman; Mary Foltner, band teacher at Mickle Middle School; and Jay Marie Hanson, 7th-grade science at Scott Middle School, among others.
Board members and the acting superintendent remarked on the significance of long-term staff for district continuity and student outcomes, and the meeting proceeded to the consent agenda after the recognition.
No formal board action was recorded specifically tied to the recognition beyond the ceremonial introductions and remarks.
