Superintendent updates board on consolidation logistics, playgrounds, school-safety grant and staff survey

The superintendent and staff are also completing inventories of building furnishings and preparing lists of items for reuse, donation or auction; the district intends to allow other schools to take needed items before auctioning surplus material and to consider donations to counties in need.
On enrollment and training the superintendent told the board enrollment at the career center is holding near 390 students and noted recent four-hour safe-school training conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. The superintendent asked the board to place a discussion of future plans for a field venture on a February agenda for next steps and possible community partnership with Clarksburg city officials.
