The City Council of Monte Vista approved Resolution 2024-16 on Dec. 19, 2024, amending appropriations in the 2024 budget for multiple city funds.
Judy (staff member) introduced the resolution and read the increase and decrease lines. She said the general fund would show an increase of $714,766 and the Conservation Trust Fund an increase of $140,000. The Kids Connection program figures were listed as an increase of $3,200,394 in one place and later $32,394 in another; Judy read the numbers from the document during the meeting.
Judy moved to approve Resolution 2024-16 and the motion was seconded. During a roll call vote Councilor Howard, Councilor Lorenz, Councilor Watson, Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor Becker each voted yes. The mayor declared the motion carried.
The staff presentation stated the amendment would result in year-end cash reserve changes: an increase of $466,879 in the general fund, an increase of $35,443 in the water fund and an increase of $3,065 in the sewer fund. No further discussion or amendments were recorded during the meeting.
The council took no separate additional votes on the individual line items beyond adopting the resolution as read.
