The Three Rivers Local School District Board of Education held its annual organizational meeting on Jan. 14 in the Taylor High School media center, conducting officer nominations and approving standing authorizations and committee assignments for 2025.
Board members nominated and voted on officers for the year. Lionel DeBlanc was nominated for vice president. Following roll-call responses, the board confirmed officers and then proceeded to consider a block of routine resolutions and appointments covering administrative authorizations and committee designations.
The items approved as a block included standing authorizations enabling the superintendent and treasurer to carry out necessary district duties for calendar year 2025, designation of the district’s public records officer, renewal of the board’s legal counsel list, and a corporate resolution authorizing the superintendent, treasurer and board president to execute district documents during 2025. The board briefly discussed designating which board member would serve as legislative liaison and which would serve as student achievement liaison and directed that roles be finalized by email.
Board members also discussed continuing the board committee structure and chairs for 2025 and asked staff to provide a running list of typical legal questions routed to each law firm that the district retains to assist with transition needs for the incoming superintendent.
The organizational portion of the meeting concluded after the roll-call confirmations and the board moved into its regular business meeting.
