The Sweetwater County School District #2 Board of Trustees approved multiple motions to solicit bids and proposals for district operations and facilities work.
The board granted permission to issue a request for proposals (RFP) with the Western Wyoming Food Co-op for food, non-food and commodity purchases for the 2025โ26 school year. The motion to go out for RFP was made from the floor and seconded; it carried by voice vote.
The board also authorized going out to bid for replacement of all interior district cameras with a not-to-exceed budget of $250,000. Facilities staff said detailed specifications are available in the finance office and that final scope and quantities will be determined through the bid/spec process. One trustee said the publicly posted memo was not sufficiently detailed and urged greater transparency; facilities staff replied the specs are on file in Katie's office. The camera bid motion carried by voice vote.
Additional bid approvals included Lincoln Middle School boiler burner replacement (not to exceed $80,000) and replacement of a set of three doors and a 20-by-20 concrete pad at Green River High School (not to exceed $65,000). Both motions passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Board members said results will be reviewed by the Facilities Committee prior to final vendor selection and that the district will return to the board with bid results and recommendations.
