Board approves intergovernmental mutual-assistance agreement with Lake County ROE for $250

The Round Lake Area School District Board of Education voted Jan. 13 to approve an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with the Lake County Regional Office of Education to participate in a mutual assistance program.
Mr. Fink (presenter) and Mr. Pink explained the program would allow participating districts to share personnel, equipment and staging facilities during crises and that the regional office is charging a $250 administrative fee to participate. "There is a fee of $250 for this, and that fee is covering administrative fees as far as, who's gonna manage the call out," a presenter said. The presenter added the program is new and that district-to-district assistance can be valuable because school districts better understand each other's needs during emergencies.
Board members said the finance committee had vetted the agreement and that several neighboring districts had joined. The motion to approve the agreement passed on a roll call with all board members voting yes.
Ending: The program will be administered through the Lake County ROE and the district will pay the stated $250 fee.
