Council approves multiple board and commission appointments

The Talbot County Council approved a slate of board and commission appointments during its meeting.
Reappointments approved included members to the Adult Public Guardianship Review Board: Wendy Young Diet (St. Mark’s Ministry to the Aged), Heather House (Channel Marker), Glenn Gackling Gaffrey (attorney), Sam Venest (representative of the disabled community) and Carrie Ingalls Roberts (Department of Social Services). The council approved by voice vote after a motion and second.
The council also approved the reappointment of Travis Hutchinson to represent the agriculture community on the agricultural advisory board; appointed Sharon Nash to the Historic Preservation Commission; appointed Ed Hikes to the Planning Commission; reappointed Bob Haas and appointed Hugh Smith to the Short-Term Rental Review Board; and approved the Town of St. Michaels’ request to have Commissioner Katrina Whittington replace a current member on the tourism board.
All roll-call votes recorded ayes by President Callahan and council members Stepp, Lesher, Milkey and Hayes.
The appointments were presented by county manager and staff and were adopted with no public opposition at the meeting.
