Community Development Director Denise Sanderson told the commission the department has issued 1,256 permits (about 300 closed) since the recovery effort began and has waived or refunded roughly $1.7 million in permit and review fees so far. Staff also reported $523,000 in revenues from pre-hurricane permits that were processed during recovery work; those revenues are expected to level off.
