Dan Buller, speaking for staff, requested the postponement, saying the city must complete both mailed notices and a newspaper advertisement before the second reading can proceed. "This is a request to postpone the second reading for the condemnation for the Shawnee Booster Station, until February 3rd. This we have some notification requirements, that haven't been completed yet that'll take about that long for that to happen both mailers and, newspaper advertisement," Buller said.
A motion to defer was moved and seconded, and the council indicated its approval with unanimous ayes and no recorded noes or abstentions. The clerk confirmed the first reading will be Jan. 27, with the final reading set for Feb. 3, and a council member noted that the final reading cannot be held until Feb. 3 under the Revised Code of Washington (RCW).
