At the Pasadena Disaster Resource Center, Josh, a representative of the governor's office, said the office's immediate priorities are protecting people and structures, moving resources to fire-affected residents and speeding rebuilding efforts.
Officials opened the Pasadena Disaster Resource Center and said they were opening a site at UCLA to accelerate relief and cut administrative delays so rebuilding can proceed.
Josh said, "Well, 1st and foremost, to make sure that people in LA are safe, and the people and structures from the fire. So we're deploying every asset possible to these fires to make sure that we can keep them under control. We're also making sure that we're getting resources to everyone who's been impacted by this fire."
He added, "That's why we're here at the Pasadena Disaster Resource Center. That's why we're opening up 1 today in UCLA to make sure that we're getting resources fast into the hands of the people who need it. And then we're also laser focused on making sure that we're cutting through the red tape and we're ready to rebuild fast and rebuild strong."
The statement did not specify which state or federal assets were being deployed, the timeline for reopening or rebuilding, or the funding sources for recovery and reconstruction. Those details were not provided in the remarks on the record.
Officials said the resource centers are intended to deliver immediate aid while longer-term rebuilding plans are developed.
