Change order for Castle High School Trustees accepted a change order from Danco Construction to replace exterior metal wall panels above a former shop garage area at Castle High School’s east wall. The board approved the work at the cost of $17,021. A board member asked whether the change would add time to the project; administration replied it would not.
Donation to Loag Elementary The board accepted a $1,500 donation from the Warrick County Cares Drug Free Council for Loag Elementary School to purchase Quaver, a computer curriculum for social‑emotional learning.
Course addition for graduation pathways Trustees approved the addition of a high-school course, "Computing Foundations for a Digital Age," to meet new Indiana Department of Education graduation-pathway requirements for future graduating classes. Administration said the course will be available across high schools and explored for potential earlier offering in middle schools to provide scheduling flexibility.
Routine business and minutes The board approved minutes from the Dec. 16, 2024 meeting and signed claims for Jan. 13, 2025. A trustee abstained from the minutes vote because he was not present for the Dec. 16 meeting; the remainder of routine business passed by voice vote.
Personnel actions The human resources report included multiple hires (certified and support staff), rescinded an earlier employment offer for a temporary special education teacher, accepted resignations and recorded a retirement effective June 6, 2025. Specific hires approved included a temporary special education teacher at Oakdale Elementary and several program assistants and coaches; personnel items were approved by voice vote.
