At the meeting the Shelton School District Board of Directors approved several procedural and policy items and completed its annual reorganization.
The board voted to adopt the proposed revised Policy 6605, governing student safety for walking, biking and riding buses. Robert Herron presented the second reading and recommended approval; a board director moved the motion and it carried by voice vote.
The board also approved a new Policy 3141 governing enrollment of nonresident students and transfers into the district. Tara Richardson presented the item during the second reading; a motion to adopt passed by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting the consent agenda — including routine personnel and financial items listed on the board packet — was approved on a motion and second.
During the annual reorganization the board elected Director Wheelander to continue as board chair, reappointed Carrie to the vice‑chair position and named Lauren as the district’s legislative representative. Each position was confirmed by roll‑call votes as recorded in the meeting’s roll‑call sequence.
These votes complete the board’s scheduled policy work for this meeting; several other enrollment and residency policies were presented for first reading and will return for second readings at future meetings.
