Pasco Schools receive unmodified audit opinion for fiscal year ending June 30, 2024

Pasco County School District officials told the school board that independent auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the district’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
The district’s audit, completed by MSL, produced “an unmodified opinion, which is the best that you can receive, with no financial or federal audit findings,” according to remarks in the meeting from district finance staff. The district plans to submit the audited financial statements to the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for recognition.
The district’s finance representative thanked staff for their work on closing the prior fiscal year and noted no findings in either the financial or federal audits. Board members responded by congratulating the finance team for the result.
The audited statements were included in the board packet for agenda item 13.2 and were presented to the board during the business portion of the meeting. No formal action on the audit itself was recorded during the meeting; board materials indicate the report will be filed and used for the district’s award submissions.
