Sumner County ECC reports one new dispatcher starting Jan. 27; three vacancies remain and training takes about two months

The ECC director told the Sumner County 911 Board that staffing has stabilized since the last meeting: one new dispatcher is scheduled to start work on Jan. 27, the agency has not lost any employees since the last meeting, and the next hiring round is planned for March.
"We do have a new dispatcher that will be starting on 27th. We have not hired anymore since our last meeting here. We've also, not lost any employees since then," the ECC director said.
The director said two trainees hired in November remain in the first phase of training with their CTOs and that cross-training has continued. When asked how long it takes to be fully trained and able to sign up for overtime, the ECC director said the training process is not strictly consecutive but typically results in full competency in about two months from hire.
Board members noted prior openings had been higher; the ECC director confirmed there were three current openings at the time of the meeting. No formal personnel actions were taken during the meeting; the update was provided for the board’s information.
