The Tuscaloosa City Schools Board of Education approved the first and final contract change order for NC Morgan Construction Company on Jan. 14, accepting a deductive net amount of $242,889.64.

A district presenter said the deduction reflected work and allowances that were not spent and credited the contractor, the architect (Warr Scott) and the project’s administrative staff for avoiding unforeseen issues. "From this deductive change order, $242,889.64 was not spent," the presenter said, and noted contingency and allowance funds were largely unused.

The board moved, seconded and approved the change order without further amendment. No roll-call tally was recorded in the public transcript.
