Council requests tour and schedule update as high school project aims for Aug. 2026 completion

Machado said he plans to convene a meeting with the three principal project owners and contractors next week to address a list of outstanding items that councilors previously flagged and to press for timely resolution. He said the city hopes to meet the August 2026 schedule but that the administration will report promptly if delays occur.
Councilors discussed frequency of financial and change‑order reporting; several members asked for quarterly updates and for the administration to provide change order tallies and remaining contingency amounts. Councilor Getcha asked for a separate tour of finished portions and areas still needing completion; Councilor Des suggested an open‑house after the building is fully operational to let residents view the new school. Staff agreed to pick a Saturday date for the council tour and to include project managers during the tour.
