The council voted to begin the Civil Service Commission hiring process for two police officer positions to fill a planned retirement and a recent resignation, restoring the department’s staffing by two positions. Council members also approved motions to advertise two zoning-related ordinances for public hearing: one to create a new use titled “community resource facility,” petitioned by Law Community Partnerships LLC, and another to amend the zoning ordinance to establish a green energy overlay district and a companion resolution to amend the comprehensive plan, petitioned by Student Lodging Incorporated.
