The Monroe County Board of Zoning Appeals on the evening of its first 2025 meeting voted 3‑0 to continue VAR‑24‑26, a request involving an ECO Area 1 slope encroachment, to the board’s next meeting, scheduled for Feb. 5, 2025.
Board members said the petitioner requested the continuance so they could supply additional information and so more members could be present to hear the case. The petitioner noted the case had been split at a prior hearing and asked for a fuller panel at the next meeting.
Staff confirmed the application has outstanding items that the petitioner intends to address in updated materials before the next hearing. The motion to continue was made and seconded on the record; a roll call showed votes of yes from Guy Lofman, Pamela Davidson and Margaret Clements. The motion carried 3‑0.
The board did not take any further action on the substance of VAR‑24‑26; the item will return to the February 5, 2025 agenda for a full hearing if the petitioner proceeds.
