The Fuquay Varina Board of Adjustment on Jan. 13, 2025, administered oaths to three newly appointed members, approved minutes from its Dec. 9, 2024, meeting and elected Andrew Ruble as the board’s vice chair for 2025.
The board began the meeting with a procedural adjustment to the agenda so newly seated members could vote before the minutes were approved. After the oath ceremony, a board member moved to approve the Dec. 9, 2024, minutes; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Thomas Gallo, newly sworn as a member of the Board of Adjustment, recited the oath: "I, Thomas Gallo, do solemnly swear that I will support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina ... and I will faithfully discharge the duties of my office as a member of the town of Fuquay Varina Board of Adjustment." Christian Matthews and Chris Goins likewise were administered the oath and took their seats.
During the meeting the board nominated and elected Andrew Ruble to serve as vice chair for 2025. After a nomination and a second, the board voted by voice and Ruble was declared vice chair.
The board chair (name not specified in the record) noted there were no tabled items or public hearings on the Jan. 13 agenda. The chair also announced that the board will not meet in February and said members will be informed about the March meeting date when it is set.
The session concluded after routine approval of minutes and the election; no substantive land-use hearings, appeals, or other public hearings were held at the Jan. 13 meeting.
