Natrona County trustees approve major maintenance list, accept $35,000 donation for Kelly Walsh scoreboard

The Natrona County School District #1 Board of Trustees approved a list of major maintenance projects and unanimously accepted an anonymous $35,000 donation toward a power upgrade for a new scoreboard at Kelly Walsh High School’s Harry Gelding Stadium.

The actions, taken during the board’s regular meeting, also cleared plans for field-turf installation at the stadium, additional stadium and athletics-area construction and several other maintenance projects the district said are aimed at making school facilities more usable year-round.

Board chair Christofferson thanked the donor after the motion to accept the gift, saying, "I would like to thank whoever the anonymous donor is out there. They have a big heart and that's gonna be a great scoreboard." The donation and the broader major-maintenance list were approved through separate motions.
